PHILOSOPHY 
 

GRANDMASTER HONG'S PHILOSOPHY AND BELIEFS OF TRADITIONAL KOREAN TAEKWONDO:
Taekwondo philosophy is honesty about one's self. TAE means feet or kicking techniques. KWON means fist or hand techniques. DO means mind and spirit or the heart of the individual. TAEKWON is the modern sport-- concentration is on competition and winning. TAEKWONDO is the traditional Korean martial art, which is based on The Five Tenets of Taekwondo:

1. Courtesy
2. Integrity
3. Perseverance
4. Self-Control (physical and mental)
5. Indomitable Spirit

We focus our training on developing: Family values, stress release, better grades for children, weight loss, self esteem, leadership skills, self defense, respect to others, self-confidence, increased energy, physical fitness at all levels, and an overall better well being!!! We also help students work toward overcoming A.D.D., A.D.H.D, Autism, and Asthma. Grandmaster Hong can also offer his experience as a U.S. National Taekwondo Team Coach for U.S. Olympic team members. He is recognized by the U.S. Olympic Committee and is a Group A member.

Taekwondo Family Values: As everyone has their own family values that they were raised on, Taekwondo expands these family ethics or beliefs to a broader picture. From early on, children are taught how to be courteous and respectful of their parents, teachers, and other people of authority. When children and adults take Taekwondo classes, they learn how to focus better on their school assignments and in the workplace. All Taekwondo students learn how to better one's self, family, and community.

What a great advantage!! Grandmaster S.P. Hong can offer you the opportunity to test for a black belt level at the Kukkiwon Headquarters in Seoul, South Korea. It would be in front of Korean Grandmasters who are part of Kukkiwon and the Universal Taekwondo Habgido Gumdo Union.
